A martial artist’s approach to fitness at any level

The philosophy of KES Fitness was born from my experience as a youth training in martial arts in the Santa Cruz mountains, hiking, climbing, jumping off rocks, and swimming in the ocean. Movement, coordination, reaction time, and reflexes guided me. The joy of my outdoor lifestyle molded my fitness goals and blended well with my lifelong training in the martial arts. As a student and later as a teacher, I embraced martial arts as a spiritual discipline that helps strengthen the will, cultivate courage, and master the emotions.
